What is Chodas Jo Melo?
Chodas Jo Melo is organised approx 14th day from the new moon (First Chand) during the Chaliha Festival. Chodas Jo Melo is organised by Puj Jhulelal Mandir, Chaliha Sahib Trust at Kalyan Khari also known as Ganesh Ghat. Ganesh Ghat is built over the Ulhas river that flows from Titwala, Ambivali, Kalyan, Thane and finally the river meets in the Sea. Ulhas river passes from the border of Ulhasnagar city. Sindhis have undeterred trust and faith in River & Jhulelal Saeen. Accordingly Chodas Jo Melo is celebrated on the Ulhas River bank which is nearest to Ulhasnagar. All the equipments, materials is brought to Kalyan Khari to celebrate at a massive scale.
Trustees of Mandir, Sindhi Maharaj perform the holy pooja of Behrana Sahib & Jhulelal Saeen and all the Devi Devta to take blessings. Permission/approval is taken from Jhulelal Saeen for announcing the date for the Matki Mela & Palav. After the Pooja & Palav, Behrana Sahib Darshan is offered to visiting devotees. Dona Prasad is distributed. Sindhi dance form Jhumir & Chejj is performed after the completion of Karya.
