40 days Chaliha Sahib Festival / Fast started on 31st July, 2024 with full of excitement. There was huge crowd of devotees on the very first day of the Festival. Puj Chaliha Sahib Jhulelal Mandir is repainted and decorated with fancy new LED lights. It gives warmth and feel of happiness when you enter the temple.
Akhand Jyot Puja was done in the morning. After that group of Maharajs/ Pandits took their seat around the Mandir for Chaliha Sahib threading ceremony. Any devotee observing the Chaliha Sahib Fast comes to Maharaj and gets the thread / Saggro on wrist which is seen as commitment that devotee will observe the rules and follow the rituals suggested for the fast.
In the evening group did the Aarti and sung Jhulelal songs till 9pm. At 9pm Gurmukh Chughria / JK Music performed the Jhulelal Bhajans followed by Chaadar Song and Palav. Entire program completed by 11pm. Devotees continued to come for blessings of Jhulelal Sain late at night.
